RWANDA BAD, IDEA GOOD?

On the 29th of June 2023, The Court of Appeal in London ruled that Rwanda is not a safe country for people seeking asylum to have their claims processed. This means that for now, nobody seeking asylum in the UK will be removed to Rwanda.

The majority of the judges (two out of three) concluded that there is a real risk that people sent there will not be given a fair hearing and could be returned to their home countries where they are fleeing from, putting their lives in danger all over again.

The Refugee Council commented after the court ruling:

"We know that there is still much work to be done. Although this ruling shows that sending people seeking asylum to Rwanda is unsafe and unsuitable, we're disappointed that the courts have not concluded that the overall policy is unlawful.
Treating people seeking safety like human cargo and shipping them off to another country is a policy that is both unprincipled and unworkable. This is an incredibly expensive project that may make headlines but will do absolutely nothing to sort out the very real problems in our asylum system."

Enver Solomon, CEO of the Refugee Council, commented on the Rwanda appeal court ruling.

Worryingly, the Rwanda policy was not judged to be a cruel or unlawful policy, therefore, the grinning, or grimacing, depending on the kind of day they are having, Tory fascists making up these despicable asylum rules will challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court and they will also dream up another way to treat human beings like cattle. The court ruling is wonderful news and yet, it's all so reminiscent of the 1930s because this government won’t give up. Just like the dark days of Nazi Germany, the billionaire-owned mass media will continue to report very little when refugees die and they will continue to say bad things about people seeking sanctuary from war, famine and persecution. They don’t even call them refugees. To most of us, they are known as migrants, as if families are risking death just to be given the chance to get a job in the Amazon warehouse near Littlehampton.

If the UK/Rwanda deal doesn't work (and it was a business deal for both countries), the UK Government will find another country that they can pay to take refugees off their hands. The notion of a) treating refugees with compassion and b) ending the wars and famines that create refugees in the first place, totally escapes these bloodsuckers.

In an article that discusses the war in Ukraine, to be released soon, I explain that evil human beings still exist. It's the only reason we see wars, poverty and famine. The same kinds of gargoyles from hell who were capable of creating something as horrific as the North Atlantic slave trade still exist today. Humanity has not purged itself from these evil people. I must quickly point out, there are no sides here. It’s not the story of “good versus bad” as the media likes to portray. Our problem is warmongers of any colour or creed. They are the world’s enemy.

Since the second world war, there has been - and continues to be - hell on earth for millions of people. Among others, the holocaust, the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the wars in Korea, Vietnam and Cambodia, the invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, the war and resulting famine in Yemen and the war in Ukraine were (and are) all planned events. They were choices made.

The deaths of countless millions of people do not register in the minds of the dreadful psychopaths who create these nightmares. The only things that do register in their minds are money and power. These psychos will do anything to build their money mountains and in their own despicable way, the likes of Suella de Vil and her cronies are cut from the same cloth. They will not rest until they can realise their fascist intentions and find a way to dispose of refugees in some hellhole far, far away.

For their asylum policy alone, the Tory government must be stopped - but there are plenty of other things that should make us determined to remove them from any kind of power. The UK political system has been dislocated from democracy for decades and it continues to slide towards the abyss of debt, poverty and control for most and opportunity, wealth and freedom for a few. The asylum laws are like a lighthouse warning us exactly how cruel our government really is.
