MARRIAGE VISAS

Following Brexit, the UK has changed it's rules for people coming to Scotland to get married.
If you are travelling from outwith the UK & Northern Ireland, please check your visa requirements here:
You can apply for marriage visas from 3 months before your wedding.
This is also when you can begin your legal marriage application in Scotland.
Your visa application AND your marriage application can be done online.
For your marriage: you will apply to the registrars in the local council area where your ceremony is taking place.
Registrars are based in most local council buildings.
Your marriage application provides you with the necessary document you sign on your wedding day.
Your legal witness and TWO chosen witnesses will also sign your legal paperwork on the day.
Our Celebrants are legally authorised marriage officers and can act as your legal witness to your marriage.
Here are the guidlines for marriage in Scotland, including the paperwork (M10) notice forms.
Please check with the local registrars in Scotland if you have any questions, they are there to help.
Their contact info can be found easily online.
